S. Koreans Closely Watch Authorities: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has buckled down to taming the south Korean authorities in an undisguised manner.

Sending government delegation, Congressional delegation and individual politicians to south Korea in succession, the U.S. is inquiring into the stand of its stooges to the north-south relations and THAAD deployment issue, stressing that "dialogue with the north is only possible under proper precondition" and "THAAD deployment should not be withdrawn as it was under the decision made between allies."

After summoning Chongwadae and Foreign Ministry authorities to Washington, the U.S. enticed them not to say anything offending at the south Korea-U.S. summit meeting due in the latter half of June, uttering such honeyed words that when the south Korean chief executive visits the U.S., it would "treat him with utmost courtesy".

Lurking behind this is the U.S. inveterate repugnancy to the democratic and pro-reform forces in south Korea, as well as the uneasiness about the a serous obstacle that may be created in the way of realizing its DPRK policy and strategy for domination over Asia-Pacific with the emergence of the present "government" in south Korea.

The U.S. has tamed the democratic forces to keep pace with it with utmost vigilance whenever they rose to power in south Korea.

During Kim Dae Jung and Roh Moo-Hyun days, it ran the whole gamut of cynical ploy, summoning the south Korean ambassadors to the U.S., browbeating them into maintaining "alliance" with it and pressurizing them to accept the U.S. policy.

It is, therefore, clear that the upcoming "south Korea-U.S. summit meeting" would serve as an "open process for brainwashing" the south Korean chief executive.

What matters is that the present chief executive of south Korea, who caught interest of the public for his remarks that "he would always say 'no' to the U.S.", has now gone servile to the U.S., saying that "dialogue will be possible only when there is change in the north" and that "investigation into THAAD does not mean to change the existing decision", being frightened.

This is an evident submission to the U.S. and an act of treachery against the desire of the fellow countrymen for the improvement of the north-south relations and rejection of outsiders.

The south Korean authorities will be mistaken if they think they can maintain their political life by yielding to the U.S.

Servility to outsiders would lead to ruin and swimming with the mindset of the people is the only just way for existence and justice. This is the truth of history.

The successive conservative forces ranging from traitor Syngman Rhee to traitor Park Geun Hye were ousted from office before their expiry. It was because they were hell-bent on misrule against reunification and people at the beck and call of outsiders, while swimming against the will of the people.

A phrase referring to the present south Korean authorities as owner of ship and the public as water is in vogue among the south Koreans infuriated by the shameful submission to the U.S. now. This means that the water can keep the ship afloat or overturn it once they are enraged.

The south Korean authorities have to make clear their stand to this question of whether they would follow the people's mindset or would submit to the U.S.

The people are closely watching the authorities. -0-
