Kim Jong Un Visits Pyongyang Orphanage on Int'l Children's Day

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Pyongyang Orphanage and congratulated the children there on the International Children's Day.
He said that he came to see the children of the orphanage greeting the day and shook hands with officials and teachers of the orphanage.
He was pleased to hear that the children who received gifts sent by him were greeting the day as significantly as others, visiting Mangyongdae Pleasure Park, eating noodle at Okryu Restaurant and playing sports games amid the interest of officials concerned and other people in their district.
When he entered the playroom of the orphanage, children vied with each other to cuddle up to him.
He told the children not to hurry so they might not fall down and patted their cheeks coming to his arms.
He kindly asked the children what they were playing and if they ate delicious food.
Looking at the children counting their fingers to tell how they spent the holiday, his face beaming with a broad smile, he said he was pleased to hear they were cheerfully greeting the day. He expressed great pleasure at seeing the happy smile of all children.
He clapped for the children who were singing songs just like kids acting cute before their real father.
Dropping in at the dining room, he asked children having their supper which food they found delicious.
He instructed cooks to prepare a variety of food with the same foodstuff to meet the taste of the children.
Seeing the menu for the holiday, he said:
"You served the children with tasty food as breakfast and lunch. I am very pleased to hear that they liked it."
He learned about how the variety of foodstuff sent by the WPK was cooked for the children, he taught the method of feeding nutritive food including honey.
He gave an instruction to feed the children on the basis of the science of nutrition and let them have regular physical exercise including the exercise to help them grow tall in order to bring them up in good health.
He told the teachers to take care of the children the way their real parents do in order to let them stoutly grow free from the sorrow of being orphans, noting that the whole country would become bright when their cheerful laughter was heard.
"It is said raising a child requires a lot of effort. The teachers are taking much trouble of bringing up many children of the orphanage," he said.
He told them to bring them up well so that renowned scientists, sportsmen, artistes, soldiers and heroes may emerge from among them in the future.
Recalling that a modern baby home and orphanage are under construction on the bank of the River Taedong under the care of the Party, he said the children of the orphanage would greet the June 1 holiday at the newly built orphanage next year, adding that he would meet them again on that occasion.
He expressed his expectation and conviction that the officials and teachers of the orphanage would creditably perform their duties and thus carry forward the love of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for the children and future generation after generation as they put forward them as the kings of the country and loved them all their lives.
He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA. -0-
