Pyongyang, January 6 (KCNA) -- Sovereignty, vital rights, destiny and
dignity of the country and the nation rest on strong self-defensive
power, Rodong Sinmun says this in an article Monday, stressing the DPRK
will dynamically advance along the road of Songun.
Powerful military capabilities provide a sure guarantee for
resolutely foiling the imperialists' aggression moves, protecting the
sovereignty of the country and dignity of the nation and triumphantly
advancing the revolution and construction, the article notes, and goes

This is the truth proved by the stern trials of history. It is
thanks to the strong might for self-defence and war deterrence that the
DPRK is protecting the country's sovereignty and peace and fully
displaying the dignity of the nation, standing firm against the U.S.
This helped the DPRK smash all the aggression moves of enemies and
defend the country's sovereignty and dignity and peace.
Physical strength, powerful war deterrence only can guarantee
durable peace. Peace can never be protected by words as long as one
party is carrying a dagger in its belt to invade the other party.
It is the firm determination of the Workers' Party and government of
the DPRK to firmly defend the sovereignty and peace of the country and
dignity of the nation by dint of powerful strength for self-defence
under the situation where the dark clouds of a nuclear war against the
DPRK are persistently hanging over the Korean Peninsula.
The Korean people will always advance along the road of Songun no
