London 17th of June Juche 102(2013)

The ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA issued the following joint statement in connection with the proposal of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK for talks between the DPRK and US. The statement reads as follows,

Our organisations, the UK Korean Friendship , the Juche Idea Study Group of England and the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK support the crucial statement of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea of the 16th of June concerning official high level talks with the the US.
It is highly laudable that the DPRK NDC have taken this bold and decisive initiative for peace on the Korean peninsula and indeed the whole world.
Tension on the Korean peninsula this year has been very great due to the  extreme anti DPRK hostile policy adopted by the US which included imposing unjust and gangster like sanctions on the DPRK as well carrying out very aggressive military exercises and threatening the DPRK with nuclear bombers.
This proposal reflects the peace -loving policy of the DPRK under the leadership of dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un. Moreover under the  socialist system in People's Korea there are no capitalist munitions monopolies which benefit from armaments expenditure . Therefore peace is in the interests of the DPRK .
If the US is sincere in wanting peace on the Korean peninsula as well as the much vaunted  "world without nuclear weapons "  then it should accept the straightforward proposal for talks put forward by the DPRK National Defence Commission. It is quite wrong and counter to the cause of peace for the US to try and insist on pre-conditions for the talks . Should the US attempt to try and do this then it will prove that the word " peace " of the lips of US spokesman is no more that hot air and gas.
It is the belief of our organisations that the US must conclude a permanent peace treaty with the DPRK and fully withdraw its armed forces from the south of Korea.
We support the proposal for direct high level talks between the DPRK and US .
