The ASSPUK , JISGE and UK Korean Friendship Association  published a special article on the successful holding of the 66th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean Childrens Union.
The celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean Childrens Union , the Juche-orientated revolutionary childrens organisation of the DPRK have recently been held successfully in Pyongyang the revolutionary capital of Juche Korea. The KCU is the children's own organisation which encourages collective life.  It is probably unique in the world today.  Its members were smart white shirts with red scarves. The KCU has it own song
the "march of the children's union". Watching the DPRK TV on you-tube we could see the children arriving in Pyongyang in a disclipined manner ,marching off the trains and planes. One could only marvel at the level of discipline , order and fortitude shown. It was such a contrast to the disorderly children in the capitalist world.
A number of  functions were held which culminated in the national joint meeting of the KCU,on the 6th of June, attended by respected general Kim Jong Un who was flanked by children on the platform of the meeting. It is very significant that instead of high-ranking cadres of the state and party, dear respected general Kim Jong Un had children at his side. It exemplifies that children are valued in the DPRK as they are the successors to the revolution, the rising generation and the future constructors of socialism. Moreover it emphasized that the dear respected general Kim Jong Un is the fatherly leader taking benevolent care of the children of the DPRK just like the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung and the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il before him. He is following in their footsteps.
Unprecedented measures were taken for both the success of theanniversary events and for the care of the children. Children from the far-flungprovinve of Ryanggang  were flown into Pyongyang by special planes. Honestly speaking this is something amazing to us ordinary working people in the capitalist UK. It must have cost 100s of 1,000s of £ at at time when the DPRK faces tight  sanctions by the US imperialists and their sniveling lackey followers but the DPRK took the step. 20,000 children in all were brought into  Pyongyang. In actual fact an event like the KCU anniversary would be unthinkable in the UK- Here under the name of "austerity" children's nurseries are being closed down all the time and schools suffer from education cutbacks. However in the DPRK the great leader President Kim Il Sung had declared that the " people are my god" and the "child is king of the country"

The little delegates  were given excellent  medical treatment. As KCNA explained
" Han So Yon (9), a delegate from Taehung Primary School in Huichon City, Jagang Province, told KCNA:
"I am grateful to doctors for caring for my health just like my own parents.
One day, I had a splitting headache, with my body shivering. I cried quietly in bed for fear that other roommates would wake.
I thought of my mother. At that time, a doctor carefully touched me on the shoulder, kindly asking what troubled me.
She took me on her back to a treatment room and measured my temperature. She then administered a medicine to me. She sat up all night for me. The doctor reminded me of my own mother."
Ri Hak Min (12) and Choe Jin Hyang (9), delegates from Chongryong Secondary School in Pongsan County, North Hwanghae Province and from Hungnam Primary School in Hungnam District, Hamhung City, South Hamgyong Province, said that they were deeply moved by doctors' utmost care for their health.
Jang Kil San, a department director of the Ministry of Public Health, said:
"Many medical workers have been mobilized for the celebrations.
Treatment rooms fully equipped with medical apparatuses were available on each floor of each block.
First-aid treatment teams consisting of able doctors and nurses are accompanying the delegates, divided in ten ambulances.
Some delegates got operations for acute appendicitis, while some others were completely recovered from cold"

The children were taken around Pyongyang to both see sites and historical places but also to enjoy themselves, they were able. They were so happy. Many of the delegates were reluctant to leave Pyongyang.
In capitalist countries such as the UK children face a bleak future. They are hit hard by poverty and family break-up and face the prospect of unemployment. It is hard for working-class and lower middle class students to go to university  because of the fees but in the DPRK university education is free and students even given clothes by the state and get free accommodation.
The future of the Korean children under the people-centred socialist system is bright. The children of Korea under the banner of the KCU led by dear respected general Kim Jong Un will march forward to the final victory of Juche.
