STATEMENT ON THE DAY OF THE SHINNING STAR
STOKE ON TRENT BRANCH, JUCHE IDEA STUDY GROUP OF BRITAIN
February 16th 2012 marks the 70th birth anniversary of the Great Leader KIM JONG IL. It is with a sense of deep sorrow and regret that we the Juche adherents note KIM JONG IL passing away before reaching this milestone.
KIM JONG IL's life and activities are immortal, and so the Korean people have designated Febuary 16th as the Day of the Shinning Star. The glorious name and deeds of KIM JONG IL will always be alive in the hearts and minds of the entire Korean people and of progressive humanity.
KIM JONG IL has worked tirelessly for the well-being of the Korean people for more than five
decades. KIM JONG IL regarded the people as being His God and served them come what may, even putting a flower on a rock if need be. KIM JONG IL ensured that the DPRK would emerge in 2012 and in the following years as a thriving independent socialist nation.
With KIM JONG IL's remarkable Songun Revolutionary Leadership, Socialist Korea became a reliable bastion of independence. When other non-aligned countries and states were conquered by imperialism, only Korea stands dignified in the struggle with globalism. KIM JONG IL's energetic leadership of the Songun Revolution provide the Korean Peoples Army with the means which to defend the peace and security of the Korean peninsula.
KIM JONG IL's devoted all his passion to the peaceful and independent reunification of Korea. KIM JONG IL evolved the "By-Our-Nation-Itself" Method as a way of resolving the issue of Korea's peace and reunification in a constructive manner. At KIM JONG IL's initiative the June 2000 north-south agreement and the October 2006 north-south statement was signed, paving the way towards Korean reunification.
One of KIM JONG IL's greatest talents was in the areas of philosophy and culture. KIM JONG IL displayed outstanding creative ability in his authoring of 800 works on different aspects of socialist theory and practice. Many complex philosophical problems were solved by KIM JONG IL through his articles and treaties. It was KIM JONG IL who kept the international revolutionary movement going along the path of socialism and independence.
The legacy of KIM JONG IL is being loyally upheld by KIM JONG UN. KIM JONG UN is determined to reach the goals of building a prosperous, powerful and great socialist country set by KIM JONG IL, the task of making the DPRK KIM IL SUNG's nation, KIM JONG IL's Korea.
We in the Stoke On Trent Branch of the Juche Idea Study Group of Britain celebrate and commemorate the life and achievements of the Great Leader Comrade KIM JONG IL. We are sure that, along with the Korean people, all working and progressive people in Britain will highly esteem the memory of the Great KIM JONG IL.
